We helped the commercial insurance division of AIG (UK) Ltd plan for and launch a new internet based trade credit insurance product.

AIG asked for support to help them to understand the operational implications and the impact on delivering to customers from the launch of a new internet based commercial insurance product.

Our Approach

The construction of a capability model for this initiative allowed the product management team to visualise the scope of their business proposition and to model the required performance characteristics of the activities required to deliver their customer value proposition.  In particular the resource implications of the product lifecycle were explored to define the necessary support organisation.


Based on this analysis, the specification of the computer system being constructed to support this product and the associated business processes were modified, leading ultimately to a successful launch.
